2021 Week 7

It’s been a pretty uneventful week, not that that’s a bad thing. Both my parents have had their first dose of the vaccine, and there’s some crispy pork belly in the oven πŸŽ‰ Did anyone write an ad-blocker for recipe blogs that skips the life story and puts the recipe at the top?

I don’t have much to say this week, so instead I’m going to link to some things I read this week and enjoyed:

Knifefight has some level-headed and well-informed articles on crypto, alongside short ventures into Gamestop, and other adjacent topics.

“Fuck Fine Dining” on Vittles. Something fascinates me about stories of working in kitchens. I read Bourdain’s “Kitchen Confidential” last year and couldn’t put it down. I’m also a Dave Chang fan – his podcast is great, but the article Vittles links to isn’t a great look.

London Cycle Routes. Not reading, but Jon Stone has been posting neat cycle routes around London. It makes me want to get out on my bike and try some of these, but… not in this weather.

I don’t feel burnt out, but I’m starting to learn what it might feel like. “Capacity, Burnout, and Self-care” is a good, important (and short!) read.

I’ve realised I’m linking to Substack a lot, Substack is great! Until next week πŸ‘‹πŸΌ
