I totally missed writing my weeknotes last week. Oops. I won’t make an excuse.
I treated myself to a Niche Zero coffee grinder, which arrived last week after having ordered it a month ago, which is much quicker than I expected. It’s beautiful. I’m a gadget nerd so I wanted to immediately unbox it and play around with it… but there’s not much to it, and there’s only so much coffee I can drink in a day. It does one thing, does it well, and doesn’t take up too much space in my small London kitchen. I’m very happy with it.
I’ve been going back into the office once a week. Being able to go and work somewhere else has been great, and I’m lucky that it’s a 25 minute walk (or 10 minute cycle) away. I met someone from my team who I’d only ever seen on the other end of Google Meet before: I feel like we need a word for this new category of social interaction. Being able to grab lunch and chat felt great. My days in the office feel less focussed, but still productive.
I haven’t got back into my weekday gym routine yet: it’s still pretty sporadic. I’m almost back to squatting what I was doing pre-pandemic: I’ve got a slipped disc which means I’ve been taking it slow. It’s not caused me any trouble over the past couple of months: I think moving around more (ie. walking to the office) and getting back to proper exercise has helped a lot.
Still no vaccine yet, but ๐ โโย they’re dropping the age to 35 tomorrow, so not long to go ๐ฌ
